MAGNA - Mrs. Lillian P. Clark Haws, 65, a former vice president of the Utah State American Legion Auxiliary, died of a heart ailment Thursday at her home.

Mrs. Haws was third vice president of the Utah chapter in 1952 and 1953. She served two terms as president of Cyprus Post 38, American Legion Auxiliary, once from 1939 to 1940 and again from 1954 to 1955. She was also a past officer of Chapeau 8 and 40 Solon No. 256 and a member of the state Chapeau 8 and 40. A Magna resident since 1920, she was a member of the Magna Lady Lions and a former officer of the Utah State Firemen's Auxiliary.

She was born January 24, 1897 in Mammoth, Juab County, a daughter of John E. and Minnie Holladay Clark. She was married to Verl A. Haws in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, January 24, 1918.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Eldred Clark, Magna; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Elaine) DeVore; Mrs. Donna Hyland, both Magna; Mrs. Richard (Mary Jean) Urry, Sandy; two sisters, Mrs. Causetta Page, Glendale, California, Mrs. Aldia Porter, Vallejo, California; three brothers, Floyd D. Clark, Vallejo, Melvin S. Clark, Hunter, Richard W. Clark, Sun Valley, California; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Spencer LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens of the Valley.
