Mr. Leonard was born in Miami, Okla., where he received his formal education. In 1935 he and Miss Mable Stewart were married in Pitcher, Okla. Mr. Leonard worked in the lead and zinc mines in Oklahoma prior to moving to Sunnyside in 1947. He worked on the Hanford Project from 1947 until 1961 when he retired and moved to Moses Lake.

Mr. Leonard had a daughter Mrs. Sammye Getman; two sisters and two brothers, including Donald Leonard of Sunnyside.
