Daniel Stephen Wisniewski, 57, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at his home in Ashley, with his wife holding his hand. Born in Quebec, Canada May 12, 1956, he spent his childhood growing up in Spencerville, IN after being adopted by his loving parents. Dan worked for TI Automotive in Ashley for the past 2 years and for Group Dekko for 18 years before that. He was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1975-1983 in the 1st Infantry-Germany, 101st Airborne-Fort Campbell , KY, and NATO Shape Support Group, Belgium. He enjoyed gardening, camping, watching the snow melt in Colorado, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. On September 10, 1994 he married Katherine "Kathi" Bartkowiak in Angola. She survives him in Ashley. Also surviving are two stepsons, Justin (Christina) Fink of Farmington Hills, MI, and Jeremy Fink of Warsaw, IN; a brother Rick Wisniewski, Ft. Wayne, IN; mother- and father-in-law Walter and Marilyn Bartkowiak, South Bend, IN; brothers-in-law David (Heather) Bartkowiak, Wauwatosa, WI, and Tim (Jean) Bartkowiak, Waterford, MI; sisters-in-law Diane (Larry) Kiles, Littleton, CO, and Amy (Stephen) Carney, Columbus, OH; and his four beloved grandchildren, Adrian Rooney, Amaya Fink, Ajay Fink, and Brooke Fink. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Wisniewski and Doris (Lutz) Wisniewski , Spencerville, IN.

Father Dave Carkenord of St. Michael's Catholic Church will lead the service.
