Cumberland Alleganian; Cumberland, Maryland, Thursday, March 30, 1905: “Monday-Miss Gertrude Cunningham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cunningham, died here yesterday (unreadable) p. m., from Bright’s disease. The deceased was aged about 16 years and had lived here all her life.  She had a large circle of friends and a very genial disposition. Besides her father and mother, these brothers and sisters survive: Thomas and Charles Cunningham, Misses Agues and Mary Cunningham.

Tuesday
The funeral of Miss Gertrude Cunningham, who died on Thursday, took place from her home in Mt. Savage on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with a requiem mass at St. Patrick's Catholic church of which the deceased as a member, Rev. Father Dowling officiated.  At the conclusion of the mass Reverend father delivered a beautiful sermon in which he touched on the beautiful life of the deceased.  The Sodality of the Blessed Virgin of which the young lady was a member, attended the funeral (unreadable).  The esteem in which the deceased was held was testified by the number of people who attended the funeral and the beautiful ?? which surrounded the (unreadable).  The pallbearers were: Messers, ??cees Larkin, Joseph Ratigan, ?? Larkin, Herman Wills, Robert ?? lin and Charles Noonan; the flower bearers were James Allen and Michael Larkins. Those from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. M?? Finan, Mr. Thomas Mattingly, Cumberland; Mr. S. Mattingly, Tunnelton, W. Va.; Mrs. C. Murphy, Lonaconing; Mrs. Edward Wel???; Frostburg and Mrs. Thomas Allen with Jennie Allen and Messr. John Allen, Eckhart.
