Glessie was born in Eads, Colorado on February 8, 1924, the daughter of Orth J. and Mary Elizabeth (Fischgrabe) Walters. She graduated from Kingman High School in Kingman, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Clarence L. Dye on September 2, 1942 in El Dorado, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1969. She then married John O. Jones on November 19, 1982 in Chanute. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2012.
Glessie worked as a Dietary Supervisor for Neosho Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Chanute.
Glessie is survived by a son, Larry Dye of Chanute; siblings, Jessie Compton of Neosho, MO, Leonard "Buck" Walters of Wichita, KS, Orlene Alvis of Hutchinson, KS, Arnetta Chaple of Seattle, WA and Ivan Walters of Blooming Grove, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Clarence Dye and John Jones; an infant daughter, Diana Dye; an infant son, David Dye; a son, Dennis Dye; a grandson, Morgan Dye; and two great grandsons, Dalton & Tristan Dye.
