Lillian Elizabeth Freeman, 79, of 506 Doak Street, departed this life listening to "I Give Myself Away" on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 20, 1933 to the late Gradie Williams George and the late Simpson George in Baxley, Georgia.

She attended public schools in Baxley, Georgia and Belle Glade, Florida. She completed Cosmetology School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1959.

Lillian met the love of her life, Ernest N. (Jackie) Freeman, Sr. in 1950 and they were married on October 27, 1951. Together they shared the birth of their son, Ernest N. Freeman, Jr.

Lillian accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. For the last 49 years she was a faithful and dedicated member of Allen Chapel AME, serving for many years on the Stewardess Board, Usher Board and Women's Missionary Society.

Lillian and Jackie moved to Immokalee in 1964, shortly thereafter becoming co-owners of Jackie & Lill's Unisex Salon, Country Kitchen Soul Food Restaurant and one of the founding members of Freeman & Freeman, Inc.

For many years Lillian's nieces and nephews spent time visiting during their school vacations, namely, Sonda Thomas, Robert (Bobby) Brooks, Stefanie Goins and Rocshay Jasper-Thomas.

She was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Ernest N. (Jackie) Freeman, Sr. and one brother Cleve George.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, a son Ernest N. Freeman, Jr. (Sandra), two granddaughters Ernisha Lillian–Ann Freeman and Porsche Freeman, one grandson Ernest N. Freeman, III; two sisters: Mary Jasper of Norwalk, Connecticut and Genevieve (Genny) Jones of Oak Park, Michigan; three brothers: Charles George (Lucy) of Roanoke, Virginia, James George (Lorene) of Norwalk, Connecticut and Elijah George (Earline) of Leigh Acres, Florida; two sister-in-laws Barbara Freeman and Mary Freeman, both of Belle Glade, Florida; approximately thirty nieces and nephews; a host great nieces and nephews; three godchildren and other loving relatives and dear friends.
