Daughter of John & Margaret (Warth) Borer. Her given first name was Carolyn.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Holy Family College in Manitowoc, a master of science degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and a master of arts degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, La. She entered the convent in 1954 and professed her vows in 1956.
She served as a teacher at St. Phillip in Green Bay, Wis., Holy Rosary in Kewaunee, Wis., St. John the Baptist in Plymouth, Wis., St. Joseph in Waukesha, Wis., St. Mary in Bloomington, Wis., Catholic Central High School in Steubenville, Ohio, and St. Mary in Delaware, Ohio. She also ministered to the poor in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and served as associate director and program manager at Hebron House of Hospitality, Waukesha. Since 2002 she had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center at the Mother House.

Sister Johnice Borer, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Charity, age 69, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Saturday, Oct.
29, 2005, at Holy Family Convent.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at
Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev Samuel D. Jadin O. Praem will officiate
at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at Holy Family Convent
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Carolyn Borer on November 23, 1935, in Lindsay, Neb.,
daughter of the late John and Margaret (Warth) Borer. Sister Johnice
earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc, a
Masters of Science Deree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pa., and
a Master of Arts Degree from Loyola University, New Orleans, La. She
entered the convent in 1954 and professed her vows in 1956. She is a
member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Siser Johnice served as a teacher at St. Phillip, Green Bay; Holy
Rosary, Kewaunee; St. John the Baptist, Plymouth; St. Joseph, Waukesha;
St. Mary, Bloomington, Wis.; Catholic Central High School, Steubenville,

Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is
assisting with funeral arrangements.
