Aurea Elenore Dimmel, 10 months, Faucett, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born February 24, 2013 to Frederick III and Audrey (Elliott) Dimmel in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Aurea was a gift; a golden girl who brought immeasurable joy to our family. She was the most frequently held of our three babies, because she was perfectly content as long as she was in our arms. She loved her siblings and her face lit up when they sang and danced for her. Never to be ignored, she had a very loud, definitive "voice," which she used to express her various emotions. Her squeals and lunging, open-mouthed kisses when being handed to her mother after having been apart was human joy in its purest form. She was a mama's girl through and through; the quiet moments of nursing together in solitude brought her little spirit great comfort. She loved to hear her daddy sing and play the guitar; she was just starting to mimic and sing with him during their jam sessions together. We all marveled at her physical beauty and how tall it seemed she was going to be someday. Her downy head received thousands upon thousands of kisses. We will miss her every single day for the rest our lives. We will live & love in a new way. Psalm 94:17-19 says, "Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,' your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." We will continue to choose joy, over and over and over. We cannot wait to hold our baby again someday, but until we do, WE CHOOSE JOY.

Survivors: parents; big brother, Solomon; big sister, Ada Jane, of the home; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Marlene Elliott, St. Joseph, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Ron and Lisa Seek, St. Joseph, Missouri; paternal grandfather, Fred Dimmel II and family, Blue Springs, Missouri; Aunt Katelin Elliott, Chicago, Illinois, Aunt Erica McGinley (Jacob) and son Rex, Manhattan, Kansas; maternal great-grandmother, Jane Elliott, formerly of Liberty, Missouri; paternal great-grandmother, Janice Hirsch, Independence, Missouri; as well as extended family, including many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial Service: 4:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
