In 1635 Roger, his mother, stepfather, brothers William and Mark, sailed from England
(probably Bristol) to Salem, Massachusetts.

Roger Haskell first married Thurza Stone (Step sister) before 1639.
Roger Haskell and Elizabeth Hardy Haskell were married in 1639 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Roger was granted land Beverly. He was a "mariner" and farmer, and had a "fish house" on
Winter Island in Salem. Elizabeth's father was in the fishing business and
Roger worked with, or for, him. Roger made a will on May 27, 1667, and named
Elizabeth as executor. Brothers William and Mark were appointed to safeguard his
children's interests. Roger served on juries in 1665, 1662, and 1664. He was
the Constable of the Basse River side of Salem in 1657 and 1658. One year after
Roger's death, Elizabeth married Edward Berry.
