dna Wright Griffith 1926 ~ 2009 Edna Wright Griffith passed away peacefully at home October 16, 2009, surrounded by family, following a lengthy battle with numerous health issues.Edna was born Feb. 15, 1926 to Elmer A. and Nora Geneva Dutson Wright in Sugarville, UT- the first of five children. She attended Hinckley High School and graduated in 1944. After attending LDS business College in Salt Lake City, Edna worked at the Tooele Ordinance Depot during which time she met her future husband, Cpl. Harold Franklin Griffith. Edna and Harold were married in Cleveland, OH in 1947. They later moved back to Tooele, then to White Pine County, Ely, NV in 1954. They welcomed 10 children to their family in 17 years. Edna was a devoted wife and mother all of her life. In 1965 she entered LPN school and managed to graduate despite many struggles raising her large family. Working as an LPN in the Ely area for 27 years, she touched many lives with her kindness and compassion. Edna was a lifetime member of the LDS Church and served in varying capacities. She was an amazing woman whose family was her life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great delight to her. Her strength and faith were an example to those whose lives she touched. Anyone who had the privilege to know her, loved her. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her sons Richard and Charles, daughter Nancy and her parents and an infant sister Mazel. She is survived by brothers: Rex (Maxine), Chad and Lee Wright, sons: Robert (Nellie), Danny (Corky), Ray (Wende), Alan (Robin), Lee Carlyle (Debbie) and daughters Barbara (Sam) Baker and Annette (Cal) Higbee, 37 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the LDS Ely, Nevada Stake Center at 900 Ave E at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Ely City Cemetery.
