Russell Keith Babb, "Russell the Painter" age 53, of Asheboro, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1960 in Caldwell County to Robert Elliot and Judy Childers Babb of Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jewel Addie Childers and Spurgeon S. Childers; and paternal grandparents, Nora Corrine Babb and John Lloyd Babb. Mr. Babb was a self-employed painter. Survivors in addition to his parents, include his companion and caregiver, Debbie Flynn of the home; two sisters, Pamela Babb Jones and husband David Lynn of Liberty, N.C. and Martha Babb Moose and husband Tim of Greensboro; six nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Belleview Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jim Hamby. Military honors were provided by Caldwell County Honor Guard. Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
