FIELDS Frank Elwood Fields peacefully passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the age of 82. He was born on October 5, 1927, to David and Bessie Fields in Siler City, NC as the 11th child. Frank proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and later in the US Army which brought him to El Paso. After his honorable discharge, Frank began working at the El Paso National Bank and retired as Vice President. He was a member of the Western Hills Methodist Church and was an active member of Masonic Lodge 1111 as a 33rd degree Mason and the El Maida Shrine Temple. The work of the Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital was very important to him and he supported it for many years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theta Fields, stepson, Brock Wellman, and several brothers and sisters. Frank is survived by his wife, Dolores Fields, his brother, Henry Fields, numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins and his loving adopted family-step daughter, Terri Wellman, daughter-in-law, Lily Sanchez Wellman, and grandsons, Bryan, Abraham and Alan.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Service will follow at 9:00 AM and will be officiated by Rev. Mark Alexander.
Burial with military honors and Masonic Graveside rites will commence at 11:00 AM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Boulevard, El Paso, TX 79906.
