Emily Gilmore Fontaine of Little Rock died on January 23, 2014. She was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on September 29, 1921, the daughter of the Reverend Walter Lee and Pearl Belcher Gilmore. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Fontaine and her brother and sisters.

Emily spent her youth in Mississippi and Tennessee and graduated in 1943 from Mississippi State College for Women (now MUW). Following college and during WWII, she served in the US Marine Corps Women's Reserve at headquarters in Washington D.C. Following the war; marriage brought her to Clarksville, Arkansas. She became a homemaker and derived great satisfaction in volunteer work related to her church and family. A lifelong Presbyterian and Elder, she was active in Presbyterian Women's work and served on groups at the Presbytery level. In relocation to Little Rock, she resided at Parkway Village and continued to enjoy volunteer service and programs offered by Life Quest. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her three children, Bob Fontaine, Nancy Bloodworth and Melissa Fontaine: three grandchildren Jason (Teresa) Fontaine, Kevin (Christina) Fontaine and Brandi (Brain) Connolly; and five great grandchildren, Cameron, Sarah, Hayden and Alaina Fontaine, and Keira Connolly.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72227, or the charity of your choice.
