Emily spent her youth in Mississippi and Tennessee and graduated in 1943 from Mississippi State College for Women (now MUW). Following college and during WWII, she served in the US Marine Corps Women's Reserve at headquarters in Washington D.C. Following the war; marriage brought her to Clarksville, Arkansas. She became a homemaker and derived great satisfaction in volunteer work related to her church and family. A lifelong Presbyterian and Elder, she was active in Presbyterian Women's work and served on groups at the Presbytery level. In relocation to Little Rock, she resided at Parkway Village and continued to enjoy volunteer service and programs offered by Life Quest. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her three children, Bob Fontaine, Nancy Bloodworth and Melissa Fontaine: three grandchildren Jason (Teresa) Fontaine, Kevin (Christina) Fontaine and Brandi (Brain) Connolly; and five great grandchildren, Cameron, Sarah, Hayden and Alaina Fontaine, and Keira Connolly.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church.
