SUMMERFIELD Mr. Orlando Moe Moore, 80, of Summerfield, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Moores funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Moe will be most remembered for spending his life educating, influencing and loving hundreds of children. He joined the Boy Scouts at age 12 and was an active member until 1959. He was the recipient of the Scout Masters Key and was a Silver Beaver Scout Master at Philmont Scout Ranch, the Jamboree in Valley Forge and Santa Anna, Calif. Moe was actively involved in the Boys Brigade for 18 years from 1982. Moe spent two years at Moody Bible College and Sorbonne University, Paris, France. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy for three years as 2nd class aviation radioman, stationed in Attu, Alaska. He worked for 27 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He also served for 18 years in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa and was a missionary for United World Missions and founder of the Home of Hope Orphanage.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Moore of the home; children, Doris M. Wells and Eric Heine of Sunbury, Ohio, Janis Mickey and husband Jeff of Orient, Ohio, Leanne Onstott and Debbie Wegner of Greensboro; Lisa Resh and husband Jim of Gilbert, Ariz.; sisters and brothers, Betty McFarland of Thornton, Colo., Mildg Hughes of Doylestown, Ohio, Mary Williams of North Royalton, Ohio, Owen Moore and wife Nancy of Pickerington, Ohio, and Melvin Moore and wife Sue of Lake Wylie, S.C. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Janine Wells, Michael Wells, Stephanie Isoma, Jason Townsend, Joanna Resh, Jonathan Resh, Jeremy Resh, Joshua Resh; and three great-grandchildren, Cassie Isoma, Nicholas Isoma and Amber Isoma. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, and his son, Timothy.
