Born c. 1628 (He gave a disposition from Cambridge, MA. 2 Jan. 1673 in which he stated that he was 45 years of age. See attached image) Many Victorian era published Alexander family genealogies (including that in Sheldon's History of Deerfield) are erroneous in regard to his parentage and as well this man's identification with a man of the same name who married in Scotland a Beatrice Michel is also incorrect. His ties to Windsor CT are both unlikely and unproven by any primary source. His ties to Deerfield are substantiated by numerous land and probate records for his children. He is called a "Scotsman" in a property transfer and is possibly of the group of political exiles who arrived in the 1650s.

*md. about 1652, Beatrice (....), who was living as late as 1717 at the time of her son John's death, per a land distribution in which she is named as living in Newton.

Children (known):

1. John b. c. 1653 no issue

2. Dorothy b. c. 1660 md. John Stebbins

3. Mary b. c. 1662 md. 1. Benjamin Barrett md. 2. Henry White

4. Robert b. 19 Apr. 1663 d. before 1689

5. David b. c. 1665

6. Martha b. 16 Jul. 1668 md. Samuel Frissell

7. Deliverance b. 7 Jan. 1672 md. Jonathan Parker

8. Elizabeth b. 16 Sep. 1674 md. Joseph Parker
