GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Finished life's journey on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, Mrs. Sara "Alice" Jay Rodgers of Graniteville, beloved wife of Robert R. Rodgers and daughter of the late Clarence Jay and the late Emma Burnett Jay.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Cordine Todd and her husband, Jimmy of Aiken, S.C., Sara Ann Padgett and her husband, Glenn of Clarks Hill, S.C., Brenda Hewitt and her husband, R.C., Gail Ruff and her husband, Mike, all of Graniteville; a son, Wyman Rodgers and his wife, Blanche of Edgefield, S.C.; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Howlandville Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Satcher officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Warren Doolittle, Craig Burgess, James Goff, Marion Kneece, Julian Proctor, Emmett Harkins and Gene Garland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Thursday, from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
