Myra Jeanette "Blondie" Armstrong, 60, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She was born September 12, 1953 in Chattanooga a daughter of the late Oliver and Idella Harrison. She was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Harrison and step son John Michael Armstrong. She was a member of the Battlefield Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe. Survivors include her husband Jim Armstrong; step-daughter Kim Armstrong; brother Billy (Teri) Harrison; sisters Jean Brandon, Linda Frizzell, Barbara McBee and Lynette (Blackie) Carter; and several nieces and nephews.

Blondie graduated from Kirkman Technical High School in 1972 after which she worked at Standard Coosa Thatcher for over 15 years. She later went to work at LifeTouch from which She retired after having a massive stroke.


Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Brother David Crane, Brother Steve Brandon and Brother Chris Paradise officiating . Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 4-8 Friday evening.
