Ryan L. Roberts, 25, of Onalaska, was taken from his family by cancer on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at his home. He was born May 17, 1988, in La Crosse to Steven and Linda (Donley) Roberts.

Ryan was a 2006 graduate of Onalaska High School, where he was a member of the marching band, playing saxophone. He was also very active in scouting and received many awards including the Founder's Award and he was the first recipient of the Sam Hagerman Spirit Award. Ryan also received the Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow and was Lodge Chief of Lodge #381 Ni-Sanak-Tani. On December 5, 2005, he achieved the honor of Eagle Scout.

Ryan worked at Walmart in Onalaska for five years in customer service, where he met some great friends. He also was employed at Sears in the H.R. Department and attended WTC until his illness in April prevented him from continuing. Ryan would have graduated in December of this year with an Associate's Degree in Business and planned on continuing his education in addition to working full time.

Survivors include his loving parents, Steve and Linda Roberts of Onalaska, and his loving maternal grandparents, Cecil and Eloda Donley of La Crosse.

He will also be forever missed by his loving aunts and uncles, Pat and Jerry Arenz, Sue and Tim Konter, Evonne McCabe, Wayne and Jean Donley, Curt Donley, Dean and Glenda Donley, Jeff and Joan Donley, Gary Roberts, Mike Roberts, Tom and Belaine Roberts, David and Barb Roberts, and Mary and Ron Sause; many loving cousins, friends, and his parents' friends who were considered Ryan's extended family.

Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, La Vern and Violet Roberts.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Woodruff Chapel), 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Pastor Steve Meyer will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
