DAVENPORT — Funeral services for Jean M. McIntyre, 79, of Davenport will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jean passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at her home.
Jean Marie McGee was born May 1, 1934, in Davenport, a daughter of Daniel Leroy and Marie Mable (Herold) McGee. She was united in marriage to Richard L. McIntyre on July 13, 1952, in Alexis, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1993.
Jean was a 1952 graduate of the former Immaculate Conception Academy. For several decades, Jean served as a crossing guard for the Davenport Community School District. After the death of her husband, she moved to Florida to help take care of her mother.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an experienced seamstress.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Paula J. Kent, Blue Grass, Jeffrey L. (Ida) McIntyre, Des Moines, James L. (Suzie) McIntyre, Des Moines, Teresa M. (Dan) Toulouse, Newport, Ky., Michael J. McIntyre, Davenport, Katherine A. (Richard) Ewoldt, Davenport, and Daniel R. (Tammy) McIntyre, St. Paul, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; sister, Marianne Petruccelli; and brother, Larry McGee, both of Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas.
