Tamara Jean Dillon Berry, 58, went to the arms of Jesus on January 17, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street. There will be a graveside service on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Buffalo Gap Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Tamara married Steven R. Berry on January 22, 1981. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Abilene Intercollegiate School of Nursing with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in 1994. She was a member of the prestigious honor society, Sigma Theta Tau. Tamara loved to read her Bible and the Christian and Jewish Roots. She also loved horses, painting, sewing, gardening, reading, writing and learning.
Tamara was a member the Cherokee Nation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven R. Berry in 2001; one brother, Robert Paul Dillon; her father, James Dillon, Sr.; and her grandparents.
Tamara is survived by her beloved son, David Berry of Abilene; step-sons, Robert Berry and Scott Berry of Houston, Texas; Grandson, Christopher Cristiano; her mother, Sonja Atwood and step-father, Bill Atwood of Abilene; brother, James Dillon, Jr.; sisters: Debra Dillon Hays of Tuscola, Cora Colleen Dillon Mullins of Bryan, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and Mike Box of Buffalo Gap who was a life- long friend of Tamara and her late husband, Steven Berry.
