William graduated from Coyle High School in 1942 after that he enlisted into the U.S. Army. William was a retired Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Mass for Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. After retirement he was a lifeguard at the YMCA and coached various local teams (Taunton High Softball & CYO) and youth teams also belonged to the Gaelic Society. Williams was the father of Diane Kearns of Taunton and Kevin Kearns of Taunton. Grandfather of Michael and Karen Kearns both of Taunton. Brother of Beth Ryan of Stoughton, Alice Comerford of Westfield and Jack Kearns of Taunton.
