Diana Howard, 71, died Jan. 19, 2014, with her family by her side in Roseville, Calif., and was reunited in heaven with her husband, Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Howard. She was born Oct. 10 1942, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to James Jr. and Geneva Opal Robison. They moved to California in 1956. Her father was an engineer and her mother stayed home with her two siblings, Jary Lee Robison of Sacramento, Calif., and Bealinda Landon of Cool, Calif.
Diana is survived by her father, James; siblings, Jary and Bealinda; and three children, James J. Howard and Bridgett Jean Howard of Greenwood, Calif., Wendy Darnel Howard-Nickle of Citrus Heights, Calif., and step-daughter, Tammie Kay Lewallyn of Sacramento. She was a grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 11. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva; husband, Kenneth; and step-son, Kenneth Lee Howard Jr.
Diana drove a bus for El Dorado Transit for 15 years. She was a vibrant and all-around delightful person. Her beauty followed her throughout her lifetime and she never knew a stranger; she befriended everyone she met. She was a remarkable mother and sensational grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will always remember her laughter, heart-to-heart talks and very special breakfasts.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m., at Newlife Church, 1053 Ophir Road in Auburn, Calif. Contributions in Diana's name may be made to Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619, or online at snowlinehospice.org. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.
