Berneta Avis Stoffregen, age 79, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Park View Care Center in Sac City.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Rev. Donald Gibson officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Berneta was born February 4, 1929, in Sac City, Iowa, the twin daughter of Warren and Alice (Larimer) Corderman. She attended country school and graduated from Newell High School. In June of 1946, Berneta was united in marriage to Carl LeRoy Stoffregen. They made their home in Sac City and were the parents of three sons: Donald, Michael, and Curtis. She will be remembered as a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She worked as a nurses aid and later became activities director at Loring Care Center in Sac City.

She treasured her family and always looked forward to their visits. Survivors include her son, Michael Stoffregen and Nancy Klenske of North Liberty, Iowa; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Nathan (Tawny) Stoffregen of Davenport and their children Isabella, Gabriella and Gaven; Kate (Kevin) Webster of Houston, Texas and their daughter Anna; and Sarah Stoffregen of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law Roland (Gwen) Gibbons of Sac City; sister-in-law Maxine Corderman of Newell, Iowa; and many extended family members.

Berneta was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 1992; two sons: Donald Stoffregen in 1971 and Curtis Stoffregen in 1981; toddler/younger sister Virginia Corderman; sisters: Betty Gibbons and twin sister Boneta Jensen; and three brothers: Morris, Bob and Russell "Pill" Corderman.
