Temple's First Woman President
A Funeral Service will be held today for Charlotte Sybil (Herman) SEGALL, a bookkeeper and the first woman president of Temple Beth Avodah in Newton.
Mrs. SEGALL died of heart disease Monday in her home in Newton. She was 71.
She was affiliated with many community service and charitable organizations. She was president of League of Jewish Women's Organizations and the Boston chapter of the American Society for Technion as well as president of Temple Beth Avodah in 1973.
A Boston native, she was a bookkeeper for The Acts Company, a theatrical booking agency; and the Eugene Kroner Real Estate Agency.
She leaves two daughters, Joanne MOUNT of Long Beach, California, and Rosalyn FINN of Newton; a sister, Maxine FRIEDMAN of Brookline; and a grandson.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Temple Beth Avodah.
