Roberta McDaniel, age 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the Salt River Nursing Home at Shelbina.

She was born on October 18, 1911, at Shelbyville, the daughter of Roscoe H. and Anna C. Robertson McMaster.

On November 16, 1940, she was united in marriage to Dean McDaniel. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters, Suanne Comfort and her husband, Charles, of Kansas City and Donna Myers and her husband, Jerry, of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Leslie Echternacht and her husband, Paul, of Leonard, Ryan Myers and his wife, Sara, of Springdale, AR, and Kelly Comfort of Houston, TX; four great grandchildren; one sister Wilma Williams of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Eileen McDaniel; and one sister, Reva Wright.

Mrs. McDaniel graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1929. She was a graduate of Christian College and University of Missouri. She taught at Valley Park for three years before teaching in the Shelbyville School District. She was a member of the Shelbyville Christian Church, a 50 year member of Chapter M, PEO in Shelbyville, the Rebekah Club and Rebekah Lodge in Shelbyville, Delta Kappa Gamma honorary Educational Organization and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. She was a devoted church member and played the piano for many years at the Shelbyville Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing the piano and being with her family.

Visitation was Friday, June 16, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services were Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the Shelbyville Christian Church. Bros. Jim Bilbro and Marty Lowe officiated. Burial was in Shelby Memorial Cemetery at Shelbyville.
