Born August 6, 1869 in Rocheport, Missouri to David Bishop and Ann Elizabeth (Stice) Bishop (both born Missouri).

He attended California, Missouri High School. Then attended University of Missouri from 1889-1892 and was admitted to the bar in 1892. Worked as assistant superintendent of public schools and city attorney ofr California, Missouri from 1892-1894. He then attended Yale School of Law from 1894-1895. Went into private practice of Law in ST Louis, Missouri from 1895-1901 and was member of law firm of Bishop & Cobbs then from 1901-1912 of Bishop & Claiborne. Also listed as first president of Civilan Club, Member of Masonic order and devoted a large part of his time to the system of cripple childrens hospitals that was created by that order. He was secretary of board of governors of these hospitals since 1921. Member of American Bar Association and Christian (Disciples) Church of St Louis, Missouri.

He was married March 11, 1916 to Maria (Claiborne) Bishop. From this union there was no children.

Worked as a Lawyer. Passed away November 27, 1937 at home at 7121 Maryland Avenue, University City, St Louis County, Missouri due to an infection in the blood stream. Buried November 30, 1937 at Bellefontaine Cemetery, ST Louis, Missouri.
