Lillian Ann (Striffler) Sessie Oliphant, 75, of Independence, passed away Wednesday Nov. 17, 2010 in Heritage Valley, Sewickley.

Born May 2, 1935 in Sewickley, she was a daughter of the late William and Iva (Willoughby) Striffler.

Mrs. Oliphant was a member of the Little Country Church in Independence Twp, and the Hopewell VFW post #8805 Ladies Auxiliary.

Lillian was an avid bingo player and enjoyed casinos,doing puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Oliphant, and 3 sons and daughter in law Donald Jr. and Charlene Sessie of Independence Twp, Harry and Donna Sessie-, Bobby and Frannie Oliphant-all of Ohioville, six stepdaughters; Joyce Oliphant-Brighton Twp, Cheryl Gandee-Aliquippa, Elizabeth and Jerry Roush-New Brighton, Brenda and Ed Varner-Aliquippa, Victoria and Daniel Hurd-Florida and Barbara Johns-Aliquippa. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, Donald Sessie III, Nichole Sessie, Harry Sessie, Melissa Sessie, Jayme Oliphant, Stephanie Oliphant, Michael Shingleton, Brittney Oliphant, Jennifer Oliphant, Daniel Hurd and Chrisitine Hurd, Christopher Oliphant, Ashley Rutledge, Sarah Rutledge, Mark, Michelle and Mike Vojnovich , her great grandchildren Donald Sessie IV, Deeona Sessie, Robin Sessie, Alex Sessie, a great great grandson Isaac Sessie, great great granddaughter Layla, a brother and sister in law William "Bill" and Jane Striffler-Melbourne FL, a sister Margaret "Marge" Kopp-West Melbourne FL, a sister in law Lois Striffler-Economy, her devoted and dear friend Jean Garskie and numerous nieces and nephews,

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 in Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 2205 McMinn St Aliquippa.

Family and Friends will meet Saturday at 11:30 am in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, where a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Vicki Brown, her pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Gospel at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park-Rochester Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers Harry and Jack Striffler, 2 sisters in law Mary and Thelma Striffler, and a brother in law Norman Kopp
