Gregory E. Koch, 84, of South Bend, IN passed away at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on June 23, 1927 in Buffalo, NY to Frank J. and Lillian (Kolb) Koch. On June 30, 1951 in Beloit, WI, he married the former Kaye A. Travis.
Mr. Koch is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Kaye A. Koch; two sons, G. David Koch of New York City, NY and Andrew Koch of South Bend, IN and a nephew, Eric (Karen) Koch and their daughter, Jordon of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edgar Frank Koch.
Mr. Koch had lived in South Bend since 1951 coming from Beloit, WI. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and attended Michigan State University. Mr. Koch was employed in labor relations at Bendix Corp retiring in 1986 after thirty-seven years of service. He was a past president of the Bendix Retiree Club, past president of the congregation of the Hilltop Lutheran Church for many years and volunteered at the Homeless Center.
Private services will be held. Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.
