Larry passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2014.

Born April 17, 1934 in South Jordan to Adelbert and Truby Holt, Larry graduated from South Jordan High School and later served in the U.S. Air Force.

Upon his return, Larry worked at Kennecott Copper as a skilled carpenter until his retirement.

He later married Florene (York) Mitchell and together they enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. After the passing of his wife, Larry dedicated his life to his beloved dogs, Heinz and Elvis. His favorite pastime was watching sports on TV while making beef jerky for his two dogs.

He was looking forward to the marriage of his son, Danny, to girlfriend Karen and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with his grandson, Sean, and his family.

He is survived by his brother, Blaine (Bev) Holt; children, Lonnie Holt, Danny Holt, Stephanie (Dan) Garahana, David (Sandy) Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Danise Allen, and Debbie (Brian) Sandal; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and of course his dogs. Preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Glen; and three sisters, LaRue Hammond, Beverly Clayton, and Elaine Welch.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale, followed by a graveside dedication ceremony in the South Jordan City Cemetery, 10630 South 1055 West, South Jordan.
