Miriam's parents were Charles and Hazel (Hammond) Gamble.

My Aunt Miriam was beautiful inside and out. A wonderful warm person who always had a smile on her face.

She married the love of her life John Silva of New Bedford, MA who's family was from the Azores and they raised Cocker Spaniels. Another interesting fact is that Aunt Miriam always wore her hair up in a french twist or a bun - we never saw her hair straight down.

She is a direct descendant of Mayflower Pilgrims Myles Standish (GS #86,222), George Soule (GS #86,222), John Alden (GS #86,222), Francis Eaton, John Howland, Thomas/John Rogers, Degory Priest, Henry Howland, Richard Warren, Francis/John Cooke and John Tilley.

----

This is her Southcoast Obituary:

Survivors include her daughter, Miriam L. Riding and her husband, Gerald J. "Jerry" Riding, Jr., of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Richard Gamble and his wife, Maryann of Virginia and Robert Gamble of Fall River; 2 sisters, Patricia Sherman and her husband, Gerald, of Fairhaven and Barbara Santos and her husband, Daniel, of New Bedford; — granddaughter, Carrie Shields of New Bedford.
