Diane, 59, passed away at her home after a courageous, eight year battle with breast cancer.

She was the daughter of Junior and Jean (Collins) Johnson. Her mother survives in Piqua. On Jun 21, 1975, she married Bob Buck, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Bob (Karie), Cincinnati; a daughter, Tiffany (Ben) Hickerson, Bradford; two grandsons, Parker and Griffin Hickerson; two brothers: Gary (Suzy), St. Paris, and Ron, WV; and a sister, Carolyn (Paul) Vickroy, Piqua.

Early on she worked at Hussey's Restaurant for her special friends Melda and Mike Hussey; who she loved like a sister and brother. She then worked for the Sidney City Schools for 25 years, most of them spent at Emerson Elementary as their Librarian and computer tech. The staff became her second family helping her throughout her illness. She was so grateful for all of their support. She and her husband were members of the Port Jefferson United Methodist Church until its closing. She served on many committees and boards, was a Sunday school teacher, and a Bible school teacher for over 20 years. She established the Kids Club that brought many children into the church. She loved children as she dedicated her life to them. The Stokes Masonic Lodge Number 305 honored her in June of 1999 by naming her the Outstanding Citizen for Community Service because of her volunteer work. After the church closed they attended Sidney First United Methodist where she started a Cancer Support Group. Many times she would have chemotherapy during the day but still attend the group meetings that same evening. She was always trying to help others anyway she could. Her husband was a rock to her with his love and support by providing her strength to keep fighting her battle. Laughter was a common daily occurrence at their house. She cherished their time together. They loved to travel, watching the Buckeye games with family and friends, but most of all she loved their time with their grandsons. The entire family would love her cooking; especially her cookies every time they got together for holidays, birthdays, and anytime anyone would show up. You never left her house hungry.

Funeral Services will be at Sidney First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Marie Smith officiating.
