Farmer
J. D. Farmer, 76, of Route 4, Cartersville, died Thursday, November 3, 1983 following a short illness.
He was a native of Clay County, N.C., a Baptist and retired employee of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
A son of the late E. F. Farmer and Effie McConnell Farmer, survivors include his widow, Rossie Dangler Farmer, one daughter, Beverly Tolan, Birmingham, Alabama; three sons, Dennis Farmer, Cartersville; Ronald Farmer, Corbin, Ky.; Ed Farmer, Cartersville; eight grandchildren; one brother, Herman Farmer, Adairsville; three sisters, Mary Belle Conway, Annie Jo King, both of Adairsville; Billie Freeland, Atlanta and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, from the Cassville Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Cassville cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
