Major Clayton Orun Carpenter, age 31, died Wednesday Jan. 15, 2014, at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah,Georgia. The Blackhawk helicopter he was piloting sustained a hard landing during routine military flight training.
Two other Night Stalkers were also injured in the accident .
A Brooklyn, N.Y. native, Major Carpenter was a 2005 graduate of The U.S. Military Academy at West Point .
He Attended Shrub Oak United Methodist Church,New York.
Major Carpenter is survived by his parents, one brother and his fiancee.
Memorial services were held in both Savannah and New York at Shrub Oak United Methodist Church.
Burial in Arlington National cemetery
