Kentucky New Era obit posted 19 Jun 1964 reads as follows:

Mrs. Janie Cunningham Calhoun, 86, died about 6 o'clock last night at her home in Cadiz after a year's illness.

The funeral home will be at 2:30pm tomorrow at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenneth Cole. Burial will be in East End Cemetery.

Mrs. Calhoun was born in Trigg County Jan. 6, 1878, the daughter of Alex and Betty Stallons Cunningham. After the death of her first husband, John Forguson, she was married to William E. Calhoun, who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Calhoun was a member of the Cumberland Baptist Church in Trigg County.

Surviving are a stepson, A.A. (Relius) Calhoun, Eddyville; four grandsons whom Mrs. Calhoun reared, Hubert Birdsong, Marshall County; Marshall Birdsong, of Michigan, and John and George Birdsong, Hammond, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Bridges, Trigg County, and two brothers, Albert Cunningham, Murray, and Josh Cunningham, Dawson Springs.
