Jerry McGuire, 70, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Monday, January 20, 2013, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 11, 1943, in Mountain Home to the late Edgar Ira and Gladys B. (Hargrave) McGuire.
Jerry graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1961, and from Arkansas Tech University with an Associates of Science in Agriculture.
After graduating he farmed all of his life including a dairy operation, beef cattle and turkey farm. He married Melba Eubank on August 23, 1973, in Mountain Home.
Jerry was a huge sports fan, especially of the Mountain Home Bombers, St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
He helped establish and served for many years on the Buford Volunteer Fire Department.
Jerry was a Christian and a member of the Congregation at Buford. He loved God and was well respected by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene McGuire; a brother, Clyde McGuire and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Pearl Eubank.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Melba McGuire of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Robin McGuire of Mountain Home and Doug and Anna McGuire of Benton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Robert Bradley of Chesterfield, Missouri and Rhonda and Price Lockard of Middletown, Rhode Island; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Betty McGuire of Springdale, Blake and Annette McGuire of Mountain Home and Larry McGuire of Russellville; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Charles Cearley of Siloam Springs; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Bill and Carol Eubank of Gassville and Joe and Jennifer Eubank of Mountain Home; 15 grandchildren, Nick, Derik, Sarah, Patrick, Abigail, Tyler, Shania, Brigid, Aidan, Gabrielle, Isabella, Claire, Alexandria, Katharine and Gabriel and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home in Mountain Home. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Buford under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
