Pastor Charles King, First Baptist West College Hill, Officiating

Eugene Frazier was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 30, 1932 to the late Bealie and James "Jim" Frazier. After a short illness and courageous fight, he departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013. He was the baby boy of four siblings: Queen Esther, Eloise (preceded him in death), Earlene (preceded him in death), and James Frazier.

Eugene was known by his family as "Unc", "Uncle Eugene", and "Gene". Friends also knew him as "Fitz", "Papa", "Geno", and "Uncle Flip". God blessed him with the gift of music and a crooning baritone voice that also earned him the nickname "Squeaky".

Eugene was enlisted in the army from April 1951 – 1954. He left with an Honorable Discharge and was ranked as a Corporal Officer at the time of departure. Soon after leaving the army, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and worked at the Fox Company. He later worked in the Maintenance Department for Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing. Eugene joined First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights under the leadership of the late Rev. Earl S. Wagner in 1954. There, Eugene served as the Director of the Male Chorus for many years until he moved his membership to New Vision Missionary Baptist Church in December 1999, under the leadership of the late Rev. Thomas H. Ferrell.

Eugene started at a young age singing in quartets and male groups, and also sang with many of the best recording artists such as Dorothy Love, Sam Cook, David Ruffin, and James Brown. Eugene was the baritone in the recording group, The Mighty Faith Increasers, and recorded with Willa Dorsey & The Mighty Faith Increasers in 1961-1962 with King Records (formerly located in Evanston). He was well known throughout the Cincinnati area as the director of the First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights male chorus, singing some of his favorites such as "Moving by the Power", "Jordan River", and "Elijah". Some of his favorite singing groups included the Canton Spirituals and the Swan Silvertone Singers.

He leaves to mourn his wife Juanita Frazier of 51 years, a host of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. He loved his children, family, and friends and never met a stranger.

Eugene had a very lovable spirit, loved to work on cars, loved to eat, loved his black Kangol hat, always had a joke to tell, and was very humorous. In spite of any or all circumstances that he faced throughout his journey, he recognized who GOD was and loved the Lord.
