VERNON—Clarence J. Durant
died unexpectedly at his home at
V. and V. Corners, Verona Road,
Friday afternoon.
He was born in Moira, June 7,
1879, a son of Peter and Hannah
Shay Durant. He was a farmer
and came to this section 12 years
ago. He married Edith McCuin
who died several years ago.
He leaves three sons, George,
Helena; Robert, Massena; and
Harry, at home; also nine brothers
and three sisters: Ernest and
Francis, Massena; Lawrence, Wesley
and Leslie Durant and Mrs.
John Fisher, Verona; Adelbert,
Vernon Center; Leland, Lyle and
Floyd Durant, Mrs. Merton Yaddow,
Vernon; and Mrs. Orson
Dunham, Oneida; also several
nieces and nephews, a sister-inlaw,
Mrs. Nora Durant, Vernon;
and a stepmother, Mrs. Victoria
Durant, Verona.
The funeral will be held Monday
at 7:30 a. m. at his home and 8
a. m. at St. Catherine's Church
where a requiem mass will be
celebrated by the Rev. Charles F.
McCarthy; interment in charge
of H. R. Alger will be made in St.
Patrick's Cemetery, Hogansburg,
N. Y.
