Preston Bridges, 77, Cadiz, died at 6:26am Wednesday at Nashville Memorial Hospital, Madison, Tenn., after a short illness.
Services will be at 10am Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Amburg and Grandville Courtney officiating and burial in East End Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2pm Friday at the funeral home.
A native of Trigg County, he was born Oct. 5, 1909, the son of the late Willie Stanley and Bessie Earl Ricks Bridges. He was retired after 44 years as a shop foreman with Henry C. White Chevrolet CO. He was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church where he served as church clerk from 1953 until 1978 and taught Sunday school from 1937 until 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Monico Guier Bridges; a son, Blandford Bridges, Hendresonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Dolores) Calhoun, Cedar Hill, Tenn., and Mrs. Will (Patsi) Gregory, Hendersonville; and six grandchildren.
