David Glen Angell mason, Michigan Passed away on July 5, 2006 at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. David was a lifelong Mason resident. Following his service in the Nation Guard, David was hired to manage the very first McDonald's restaurant to arrive in the Lansing area. In 1974 he left McDonald's to own and operate Corky's, Inc., near the campus of Lansing Community College. In his later years David was a dedicated employee of Sam's Club, often working well beyond his shift to mingle with staff and assist customers. He also managed to paint houses in his "spare" time. Throughout most of the 1970's David was scoutmaster of Troop 98 in Mason, Michigan, encouraging a number of young men to achieve the Boy Scout's highest honor of Eagle Scout. David will be remembered for the combination of hard work and good cheer with which he approached every situation. David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandy (West); sister, Jane Ann (John) Hepfer; children, Lonnie Angell, Becki Angell, Geri Angell, and Lisa (Jeff) Mills; and his grandchildren, Cassi, Josh, Beth and Sam. A Memorial dinner will be held for friends and family on Sunday, July 23, 2003, in the Community Building at the Ingham County Fairgrounds, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Contributions may be made on David's behalf to the Boy Scouts of America, Chief Okemos Council, 4000 West Michigan, Lansing, Michigan 48917. The family is being served by the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, Mason, Michigan.
