Dean Ray Adams, 85, of Karns City, passed at his home on Friday afternoon, January 17, 2014.

He was born August 1, 1928 in Fairview Twp., PA, the son of the late Samuel Ray Adams and Myrtle Pearl (Sutton) Adams.

He retired from Witco Chemical after 46 years. He was currently an Elder at Fairview UP Church and has been a member all his life.

Dean enjoyed gardening, hunting, farming, camping and he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Jewart) Adams whom he married September 17, 1955; his son, Thomas D. Adams (Cyd) of Ohio; his daughters, Carol L. (Tom) Baker of N. Carolina and Connie R. (James "Alex") Freedline of W. Sunbury; seven grandchildren, Rena', Melissa, Allison, Sara, Stacy, Jordan and Ray and six great grandchildren, Danielle, Deanna, Logan, Shelvie, Milania and Suzan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8PM.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21st at 11AM with his pastor, Rev. Parker Brady officiating.

Interment in the Concord Cemetery.
