FORREST, GEORGE VERNON - Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Assembly of God Church, Arvin, for George V. Forrest, 83, of 1103 Sterling Road, who died April 15. Brother Dearl Dawson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Forrest, a native of Dardanelle, Ark., was a resident of Arvin 35 years before moving to Bakersfield 7 years ago. He retired in 1960 after working as a farm laborer. Survivors include the widow, Ellen; 5 sons, Jack and Ivan, both of Bakersfield, Ralph. H.C. and Robert, all of Arvin; 3 daughters, Celeste Clifton and Faye Stockler, both of Arvin, and Roberta Angle of Bakersfield; a step-son, Cecil Allen of Arizona, and a step-daughter, Betty Taylor of Arizona; a brother, Oscar of Quinton, Okla.; 33 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Forrest, Keith Forrest, Mark Angle, Donald Forrest, Jack Clifton and C. V. Forrest. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Forrest, Chip Forrest, Mike Forrest, Leon Peters and Bud Peters and Clyde Forrest. The J. W. Sams & Sons Funeral Home Arvin.
