Jonathan W. Hamilton, 66, of 3052 Route 430, Bemus Point, N.Y., passed way at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Roger Earl and Sylvia Carlson Hamilton.
He was a 1964 graduate of Southwestern Central High School. He attended Jamestown Community College and following his service in the military received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Brockport.
Jonathan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from May 11, 1966, to Aug. 13, 1968, during the Vietnam Era.
Before his retirement he was employed as a Patient Account Manager, consulting for several national consulting firms.
He was a past member of several veterans' organizations including the War Vets Recreation Club and the former AMVETS Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sharon Ann Tackentien, whom he married Dec. 28, 1974; his three children: Mark Jonathan (Michelle) Hamilton of Randolph, N.Y., Jennifer Renee (Rick) Dobrowski of Maui, Hawaii, Eric Roger Hamilton of Falconer, N.Y.; a step-son, Thomas L. (Jennifer) Nelsen of Bemus Point, N.Y.; two grandchildren: Keira Nevaeh Hamilton, Ian Mark Hamilton, both of Randolph; two step-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Kaye Mason of Aldie, Va.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Bradley E. Hamilton and Wilson L. Hamilton.
