Rebecca Lynn Goff, age 64, of Beaver, WV, previously of
Mount Nebo in Nicholas County went to be with her Lord and
Savior on June 14, 2013. Becky, as she was best known by her
family and friends, died after a long illness at the Bowers
Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Her faith and belief guided her
for all of her adult life.
Becky was born in Richwood WV to Opal and WB "Bill"
Goff, now deceased. She is survived by two sisters, Betty Ann
Kelley and husband Herbert Kelly, Billie Boone and husband
Dan Boone; and one brother, David Goff and wife Kay Goff.
She had numerous nieces and nephews.
Becky graduated Nicholas County High School and West
Virginia University. She also completed a masters degree at
WVU. She was a guidance counselor at Nicholas County High
School for over 30 years. She enjoyed a wonderful relationship
with the hundreds of students she helped over those years.
As an alumnus of West Virginia University, Becky seldom
missed watching on television or in person a Mountaineer
football or basketball game. Every residence she had was
always adorned with Mountaineer memorabilia.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
June 19, 2013 in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville
with Pastor Butch Collins officiating. In keeping with Becky's
wishes there will be no visitation. White Funeral Home at
Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
