Obituary:
Mrs. Lott R. Herrick, 84, lifelong resident of this city, died at 9:40 pm Monday at her home on E. Allen St. She had been in declining health for some time.
She was the widow of the late Lott R. Herrick, prominent Farmer City lawyer and at one time former Chief Justice of the Illinois State Supreme Court.
Harriett N. Herrick was born Feb. 19, 1874, in DeWitt County, a daughter of Jacob and Rebecca Davis Swigart. She was married to Lott R. Herrick April 2, 1896, at Farmer City. She preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1937. A daughter, Mrs. Mildred McClelland, preceded her in death April 14, 1933.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Helen Herrick Thomas of Champaign and three grandchildren, Mrs. Carol T Brigham of Theodore, Alabama, Lt. Lott H. Thomas, serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Osau, Korea and Robert L. McClelland of Novi, Michigan.
Four great grandchildren also survive, Robin S. Brigham of Theodore, Alabama and Robert, Ivan and Nancy McClelland all of Novi, Michigan.
She attended the Farmer City Schools and Bartholomew School, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Louie Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and was active in social and civic organizations here.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday (today) at the Stensel Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Samuelson, Methodist pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Dr. Wilfred Nowlin, Don McCartney, Russell Bateman, Walter Hoffman, Vernell Kent and Don Oleson.
