CHARLES EDWARD STOODY DIESJune 24th 1940 The Ottawa Citizen
Charles Edward Stoody, member of the income tax branch of the Department of National Revenue, passed away early Sunday morning at his residence, 404 Laurier Ave East Ottawa, after an illness of 6 weeks. He was in his 63rd year.

Born in New Philadelphia Ohio he was the son of the late Jacob Stoody and his wife Nancy McNeel.

He was active for many years in the lumbering industry in Cleveland Ohio and later at Sarnia Ontario. He lived in Sarnia until 13 years ago when he moved to Ottawa to enter the Civil Service. A member of St Joseph's Parish, he also belonged to the Holy Name Society. He married Eileen Lang at Kitchener in 1911. Surviving relatives include his widow, one son William of Ottawa, one daughter Mrs. John Motz of Kitchener. Also 5 sisters, Mrs. Cora Leflingwell of Florida; Mrs Oliver J Flint of Princeton ILL; Mrs Clara Trimble of Chicago; Mrs Ernest Cross of Ovid MI; and the Princess Debraganza of New York.

The funeral will be held from his home on Tuesday to St Joseph's Church for requiem high mass at 8:00 AM.

Interment in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
