Matthew Edward Bond, 28, of Ft Myers, Florida, was taken from his family and friends by a tragic motorcycle accident on Sunday, August 14, 2005. Matt is survived by his loving and devoted parents and a younger brother, his granddaddy, George Bond, Jr and a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who reside in Southwest Florida, Virginia, Delaware and Wisconsin. Matt spent most of his young life in Northern Virginia where he attended Robinson High School, excelling in both academics and track and field. After graduation, he attended George Mason University. Matt moved to Fort Myers in 2003 and was employed by City-Tel Communications. Matt's intensity, passion, competitiveness, devotion to NASCAR, the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech football teams, and simply his love for family, his dog, Tony, and life itself made him a special young man who will forever be loved and deeply missed by his family, his pup, and all who knew him. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 19, at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church at 12171 Iona Road Ft. Myers at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joe Gibbs Youth of Tomorrow at 11835 Hazel Circle Drive Bristow, Virginia 20136.
