Joshua David Bailey, 30 of Salem VA. passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 12th, 2014.
Joshua was a Salem High School graduate. After graduating, he attended Regent College in Vancouver B.C. and then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Roanoke College. As part of his studies he traveled extensively and was looking forward to returning to Europe.
Joshua worked for Northcross and Roanoke City Schools as a substitute teacher while pursuing his Masters degree in Philosophy and Humanities at Hollins University and Roanoke College.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, James G McGeorge of Colfax N.C., Jean Miller and Arnold Bailey of Erwin TN.
Left to cherish his memory are his Mother, Deborah McGeorge Bailey Kiser and Husband Danny, Father, David Lee Bailey and wife Marlyn of Erwin TN. Grandmother, Carlene ( Billie) McGeorge, his Uncle Jim McGeorge ( Mackie) and wife Susie, Cousins Katie and husband Denny Huff and their children Emily Grace and Jack, Carrick McGeorge of Roanoke VA, Aunt Melissa Thomas of St John, USVI and Uncle Tim Bailey of Erwin TN. His long time friend Jonathan Parker of Columbia, SC and Mike, Chris and Jim of Roanoke.
Graveside service will be conducted at Sherwood Memorial Park at 11am on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 with a Memorial service to follow at the Roanoke College chapel at 12:00 pm, Rev. Christopher Bowen will officiate. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel, www.oakeys.com
