Felix J. "Sonny" Dumesnil, Jr., 75, of Doucette, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 20 at 7 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville. Graveside services were held on Sunday, September 21 at 3 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Groves under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville. Officiating was Father Egidio Vecchio. Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Dumesnil, Jr., Gralin Dumesnil, Jr., Dustin Foxworth, Brad Blanchet, William Duvall, and Matthew Davidson. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Foxworth, Carroll Dora and Robert Griffin. Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20 from 5 Ð 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Sonny was born August 11, 1928 to Felix John, Sr. and Yola Mae Judice Dumesnil in Port Arthur. He had lived in Doucette for the past 30 years. He was retired from the City of Port Arthur from the Maintenance Department and had worked for the City of Groves for a number of years. He had also worked at the White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico. He was a member of the Catholic Church and was a Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his son Gralin "Grady" Dumesnil. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Dumesnil of Doucette; sons, Dewayne Dumesnil ofÊ Orange and Ricky Dumesnil, Sr. of Doucette; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Keith Foxworth of Mauriceville; daughter-in-law, Pat Milam Dumesnil of Woodville; sister, Theda Mora of Port Arthur; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
