Edwin Baldwin, McDonald School Board Head, Dies -- (Special to the Vindicator) -- McDonald, Oct 19 --- Edwin J. Baldwin Sr., died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday after a heart attack. He was president of the McDonald Board of Education and a transportation supervisor for U.S. Steel Corp. Mr. Baldwin was born Nov 8, 1914 in Cleveland, Tenn., a son of Wiley G. and Callie Morgan Baldwin, and had lived in McDonald 12 years. He was a member of Woodland Park Methodist Church, a board member of the YMCA and belonged to the business and professional men's organization. Besides his mother in McDonald, he leaves his wife, the former Peggy E. Anderson, whom he married 26 years ago; a son, Edwin Jr. of McDonald, and two sisters, Mrs.Harry Frazier of McDonald, and Mrs.Beulah Wilson of Girard. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church, where the body will lie in state from noon until time of service.
