Douglas A. Loomis, 59, Fargo, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Sanford Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Doug was born to Eugene & Elsie Loomis on August 20, 1954 in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1972. He graduated from Moorhead Technical College in 1974 with a diploma in diesel technology. Doug married the love of his life Jane Stigen on September 7, 1974. He served in the Army from 1975 to 1979. Doug and Jane started their family in Rapid City, SD and eventually moved back to Fargo. Doug had a 40 years career as a diesel mechanic/parts specialist, with the last of 25 years spent at RDO Equipment Company.

Family was the most important thing to him and there was nothing he wouldn't do for his girls. He was always willing to help others. He loved tinkering in his garage and there was nothing he couldn't fix. In his spare time he enjoyed watching his many favorite TV shows and sports, but most of all he loved going to the movies.

Doug is survived by his wife Jane Loomis; daughters, Jenna Tuhy and Abbey Loomis; brother, Donald Loomis; sister, Deb Hopper; and many nieces and nephews, and in-laws that were very special to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 20 at Boulger Funeral Home from 3-5:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo.
